I am very happy to have worked FT5GA on two bands, country #329 and making me eligible for Honor Roll when the QSL comes. At the same time I, as well as many in North America I believe, are somewhat disappointed in the expedition. The stations are just not on the right bands at the right times for North America and seem to be concentrating on Europe. If you look at the Main Leader Board of the top 100 band/modes worked, there are no stations from North America. There are 7 JA's, one 4X and the rest are all EU stations.
I was forwarded an email from one of the pilot stations asking for patience and explaining that the operators are mostly French Military with little or no experience in evaluating HF propagation. I think if there is sufficient internet bandwidth for daily log updates, there is also sufficient bandwidth to receive some direction from the pilot stations on what bands to work at what times to maximize coverage and maximize the contact rate (currently averaging only 22 QSO's per hour per station).
Again, I understand the difficulties of mounting a DXpedition of this nature, and very appreciative of the contacts. But I'm still somewhat disappointed.

Merci et 73,

Don, K2DC
