| Well, the DX Gods smiled on me 22 September and I worked FT5GA at 1514 GMT on 17 meters. I give that operator credit for sticking by his guns and refusing to work other stations when he specified he was only working North and South America. He got ticked off once and shut down for about 15 minutes, but he returned and I got him a short time later. I honestly cried after working him, as this was my DXCC No. 337. My wife and I then went out to a local Mexican restaurant to celebrate. Hopefully, someday I will work BS7 and have all 338 entities but, for now, I'm definitely a Happy Camper!! TNX for the efforts of the FT5GA crew. I realize they are understaffed and have had their share of problems. VY 73, Jack-W4JS |

| For an expedition to one of the top most wanted countries to try to make as many different band / mode contacts with a few stations, instead of giving a new one to as many as possible is quite a dissapointment. I can't explain why move to 30m in the middle of a rare West Coast opening on 17m where many, many stations were calling , and leave everyone hanging. Hopefully you can revisit your 'Plan'. | it would be better if you would concentrate on giving the maximum number of people a new country rather than trying to provide so much emphasis on new mode and band contacts spend as much time as possible on cw since that will permit weak signal contacts 17 meters and 20 meters offer the best chance for north american stations 40 meters peaks during the grey line be sure to stay on past your sunrise as there is a strong peak shortly after the sun comes up start going by numbers to reduce the size of the pilups |
